Reproductive Immersion was a part of an annual gathering of scholars, artists, and activists working in the area of reproduction and reproductive justice at Kings College London. I was invited to showcase Heart Sense and Sensing Bodies at the event, which I redesigned with a reproductive theme.

Heart Sense, instead of showing a floral form, showed three growing cells resembling heart beats in an embryo. The floating particles represent the collective heartbeat detected across all visitors that interacted with the installation.

Sensing Bodies featured two plants that are traditionally used for healing women’s bodies: fennel, an galactagogue that supports lactation, and celosia, and emmenagogue that supports menstruation.
